Muzungu Life

I have taken an average of over 100 pictures per day since I got to Uganda, so really this is only a few!

You can buy Nora Roberts here. I took this picture for Gandy.

Looking out from the top of Murchison Falls.

Rainbow over Murchison Falls.

Me!

Water Buffalo

Sunrise over the Nile.

Lion! It was far away behind the grass, so this is one of the only two pictures I have. But it was HUGE. All of the animals in the field were perfectly still, watching for where it would go try to hide so it could sneak up on them.

I think this was the not Kob...

I rode on the roof for the safari. That's my shadow!

Hippos!

This is apparently safari camping. We had beds and showers.

Baby warthogs!

Cool bird, eh?

H-i-p-p-o (usually they spend the day in the water and the night out, so this was a fun one)

Probably the coolest elephant experience-he was hanging out in the river while we were on our boat cruise to the falls.

Approach to Murchison Falls from the river.

Me at the falls approach.

Other falls.

Hospital

I think maybe it looks like I never actually made it to work in a hospital here. Not true!

This may be a little misleading-the hospital complex includes the big building in the background. It looks a little fancier here than it does up close.

Rounds. Notice the choice of light source for looking at imaging.

Yeah...

Wenchi

Went on another trip this weekend-this time to a crater lake on Mt. Wenchi, about 2h outside of Addis. Spent the night in a lodge and the day on horses and a boat. Not too bad really:)

Yes, I am in Ethiopia and I took this picture.

And this one. This was the descent into the crater.

And this one! I had trouble picking only a few to post...

Monkeys also stay at the lodge. We were checking out their dinner-apparently they like injera too.

The four of us, about to get on the boat.

View from the boat ride.

Just thought this was cool.

Gamecocks again!

Horse ride through the valley.

Gamecocks!

View of Addis from a nearby hilltop.
This is why I wear a scarf over my nose and mouth to walk to and from work.

Went to see Lucy Friday. This is her pelvis.

Outside of the museum with Lucy, there is a cafe-and a turtle home!
There were I think 3 big guys and 2 little ones living in this enclosure.

I found Shani! I didn't originally find her in the Sheraton, but she did take us there to show it to us. So yes, this picture was taken in Ehtiopia.

Then-one of the highlights of the week-we went to the mercado...somewhere down an aisle...there was this bin of hats...

Gamecock hats! Yep. We asked, no one knows what the hats mean or what South Carolina is. Apparently they just come like this and people buy them or they don't and there they are.
